This policy explains what Delv collects, why it is used, and the choices available to you.
Data we collect
- Account information: your email address or phone number when used to sign in.
- Reading activity: articles opened, saved, skipped, reading progress, and interactions used to operate and personalize Delv.
- Preferences: selected topics, reading level, appearance, and Wake settings.
- Device and service data: installation identifiers, notification tokens, diagnostic events, and security logs needed to deliver and protect the service.
- Wake activity: preparation and completion events, including a bounded account-level history of confirmed Give Up outcomes.
How we use data
- Authenticate your account and send requested sign-in links.
- Provide, synchronize, and personalize reading, Shelf, and Wake features.
- Maintain reliability, prevent abuse, investigate failures, and improve Delv using aggregated analysis.
- Deliver notifications only when enabled and permitted by your device.
Storage and service providers
Delv uses Amazon Web Services for authentication, storage, processing, email delivery, and service monitoring. Production application data is primarily processed in the AWS Asia Pacific (Mumbai) region. Some supporting services may operate in other regions. Data is protected in transit using HTTPS and by AWS-managed security controls at rest where supported.
Retention
Retention varies by purpose. Short-lived operational records and article caches expire automatically; account data and saved preferences remain while your account is active. Confirmed Give Up history used for escalation is queried over a rolling 14-day window. Security, backup, and legally required records may persist for a limited period after deletion.
Your choices and rights
You can change preferences and notification permissions in Delv or your device settings. You may request access, correction, or deletion by emailing avraw@proton.me from the address associated with your account. Requests are verified to protect your account.
Children
Delv is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
